Man charged as part of police op to tackle class A drug supply and organised crime

A MAN has been remanded in custody after he appeared at court charged with drug offences.

Omar Ali (25), of Selwyn Street, Eastwood, was arrested after police executed several drug warrants in Eastwood last Wednesday (January 24) as part of an operation to tackle class A drug supply and organised crime.

A man and a woman were also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to supply and have been released under investigation.

Ali appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court the following day charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody.

Ali will next appear at Sheffield Crown Court on February 22.
