Man assaulted at Maltby car garage by knife-wielding suspect

The 59-year-old victim was assaulted at around 1.10pm at Pitstop Autocentre on Blyth Road by a masked man, said a police spokeswoman.

The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon described as a 'combat knife'.

"The 59-year-old suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident and was understandably left incredibly shaken," the spokeswoman added.

"The offender left on foot shortly after, running into the woods behind the garage."

Enquiries are ongoing to identify the attacker and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 425 of February 13.
