Man arrested over stabbing at Wingfield

A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital after a stabbing at Wingfield yesterday morning (Tuesday).

Police were called to an address on Wingfield Road shortly before 7.30am.

A spokeswoman said: “The man was taken to hospital and treated for his injuries. He returned home yesterday evening.

“After ongoing activity to detain the suspect, a 28-year-old man from Rotherham was arrested earlier this morning under suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.”
