Man arrested over social media "trolling" of Rotherham abuse survivor

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of the harassment of a Rotherham child sex abuse survivor who said she had been targeted by a social media troll.

The woman, who goes by the pseudonym Elizabeth, called the police last December to tell them the Facebook and Twitter user had published her name and photo on the social networks.

She said she had been left fearing for her safety and that of her young daughter and was frustrated with the progress of the police investigation.

South Yorkshire Police said today (Wednesday) that a 34-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of harassment and fraud offences and released on bail until April.
