Man arrested for conspiracy to rape
A 44-year-old man from Rotherham yesterday (Tuesday) became the 17th person arrested under Operation Stovewood.
He was held on suspicion of conspiracy to rape and conspiracy to indecently assault a girl under the age of 16, between 1997 and 1998.
A spokeswoman for the National Crime Agency said: “He was released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
The NCA’s Stovewood operation is investigating allegations of child sex abuse in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013.
