Man appears in court over Conisbrough attempted murder

A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an incident at a Dearne Valley house where shots were reportedly fired.

Michael Swift (26), of Staithes Walk, Denaby Main, appeared at Doncaster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with attempted murder and attempted robbery in connection with the incident on January 23, when shots were reportedly fired at a man in a Conisbrough house.

Swift was arrested on Monday by officers from Doncaster’s Fortify Team, said a police spokeswoman.

He has also been charged with criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon and stalking with violence in connection to two further incidents last month.

Swift was remanded into custody and will next appear at Sheffield Crown Court on April 3.
