Man admits New Year’s Day GBH as attempted murder charge dropped

A MAN has pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm on a neighbour on the evening of New Year’s Day.

Jake Bartholomew-Mann (24), of Romney Close, Flanderwell, pleaded guilty at Sheffield Crown Court today (Tuesday) to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Neil Pearce with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The Crown Prosecution Service agreed to offer no evidence on a previous charge of attempted murder and a four-day trial, which was due to begin today, was dropped.

A further charge of possession of an offensive weapon will lie on file.

Bartholomew-Mann was remanded into custody and will be sentenced on April 30.
