Man (48) stands trial over Christmas Eve "sexual assault"
A MALTBY man has gone on trial accused of sexually assaulting a woman on Christmas Eve.
David Stokes (48), of Yarwell Drive, Maltby, is accused of assaulting the woman, now aged 19, on December 24, 2017.
A jury of eight women and six men were sworn at Sheffield Crown Court today (Monday) and prosecutor Mr Ian West is due to open the case tomorrow.
The alleged victim cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Stokes, who denies one count of sexual assault, was bailed to appear at court tomorrow.
The trial, which is estimated to last four days, continues.
