Man (36) jailed for life for newsagent's murder

A ROBBER who battered a newsagent in her shop has been jailed for life for her murder.

Storm Blueitt (pictured) attacked cancer patient Judith Ducker (64, pictured below) at Wellgate News on Wellgate in Rotherham last September.

The head injuries she suffered forced doctors to stop her breast cancer treatment, which Sheffield Crown Court heard led to her death.

Blueitt (36), of Cambridge Crescent, East Dene, was found guilty of murder and robbery by a jury on Monday afternoon.

He was jailed for life with a minimum term of 27 years.

Blueitt claimed he could not remember the events of September 1 last year because of blackouts and amnesia he was suffering at that time, the court was told.

Ms Ducker, who lived in Treeton, died in hospital on October 20 and pathologists found the cancer had killed her after treatments were suspended due to her head injuries.

Witnesses described finding her in a pool of blood which head injuries a pathologist said was consistent with being attacked with a claw hammer.
