Maltby man jailed for sexual assault on teenage girl

A SEX offender has been locked up for 18 months and will not be allowed to contact his victim for nine years.

David Stokes (48), of Yarwell Drive, Maltby, sexually assaulted a woman on Christmas Eve, 2017, and was found guilty at a three-day trial at Sheffield Crown Court last month.

The complainant, who is now aged 19, cannot be identified for legal reasons.

Stokes was jailed for a year and a half at the crown court on July 5 and was banned from contacting his victim for nine years by way of a restraining order.

South Yorkshire Police was unable to provide a custody image.
