YOUNGSTERS from a Rotherham youth group can plant a better future for themselves thanks to a £36,000 grant.

Members of the Maltby Linx Young People's Group received the funding from the Wentworth Valley Area Assembly. It will be spent on a new allotment.

A spokeswoman for the group said: "The Maltby Linx Forum group want to use the money to create the allotment to expand their already-successful Forum Café.

"This will create learning and employment opportunities in both the kitchen and allotment, as well as provide most of the salad and vegetables for the café."

The group, which is based on Lilly Hall Road, is run by the borough council's young people's service, is made up of 13 to 19-year-olds.
