Major roadworks plan for St Ann's roundabout

MOTORISTS will face new delays while more roadworks are carried out to widen one of Rotherham’s busiest roundabouts.

Councillors have approved in principle plans to widen part of Fitzwilliam Road at St Ann’s roundabout to ease the way for buses.

The junction would be widened for 50 metres on the approach to the junction from the Eastwood side.

The plan is part of the transformation of parts of the A630 between Rotherham and Doncaster as a Quality Bus Corridor.

The idea is to encourage more people to use public transport.

Councillors given approval for a report to be produced, which will include detailed designs.

The £395,000 scheme is one of a number on the A630.
