M1 roadworks warning at Tinsley

TINSLEY Roundabout will be reduced to one lane overnight from next week to allow roadworks to be carried out.

The Highways Agency will begin work on Monday to lay new power cables on the roundabout at junction 34 of the M1.

The work is expected to be completed by March 21, with engineers on site from 8pm to 6am.

Road signs will be replaced and new electric cables installed to lampposts and road signs.

The roundabout and its approaches and exits will be reduced to one lane overnight.

Highways Agency project manager, Tim Calvert, said: “This work will improve the reliability of the lighting and illumination of signs for the many drivers who use the M1 at junction 34.

“Although the lane closures will be in place during off-peak times when there is less traffic, we do advise road users to allow more time for their journeys and driver safely though the roadworks.”
