PARTS of the M1 will be closed overnight next week as works to upgrade it to a ‘smart motorway’ near completion.
The southbound carriageway will be closed between the exit and entry slip roads at junction 34 for Meadowhall on Wednesday, July 19.
The southbound exit and entry slip roads at junction 31 for Aston will be closed on Thursday, July 20.
Meanwhile, motorists using the A1(M) and M18 motorways also face delays next week while resurfacing works are carried out.
The north-east quadrant of the roundabout and junction 35 southbound exit slip road will be closed for three nights from Monday, July 17.
The south-east quadrant of the roundabout and M18 junction 2 southbound exit slip road will be closed for two nights from Thursday, July 20.
The closures will be in place from 8pm until 6am. Clearly signed diversions will and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
