'Lucky' driver escapes injury in Broom lorry smash

A LUCKY motorist walked away unscathed after colliding with a lorry in Broom this morning.

The driver of a grey VW hatchback was not injured in the crash where Broom Lane meets Spinneyfield.

South Yorkshire Police (@RothCentralNHP) posted this picture of the car post-crash, at around 9am today.

An officer tweeted: “Central PCSOs dealing with an RTC [at] Broom Lane.

“The driver walked away with no injuries and was very lucky after colliding with a lorry.”

The road was not closed after the accident, as officers were able to push the smashed vehicle off the road.
