Loud bangs from steelworks heard across Rotherham
LOUD noises heard across Rotherham last night (Wednesday) were part of normal processes at Liberty Steel, police said.
Reports said water mixing with molten steel had caused “mini sonic booms” at about 10.30pm.
Twitter users said the three bangs could be heard as far away as Mexborough, while others closer to the Aldwarke plant described windows rattling in their homes.
