Little 'gift from heaven's' pledge to help with a haircut moves the community

“A GIFT from heaven” — that’s how Kirstie Aylward describes her four-year-old daughter.

Proud mum Kirstie says Scarlett is such a personality she brings smiles and joy to everyone she meets.

Now she has shown her big heart by pledging to help those in need.

She’s raising funds for Little Princess Trust, a charity providing thousands of real hair wigs to sick children and young people and will donate a length of her hair when it is cut later this month.

Kirstie (38) said: “A long time ago my husband's friend had died of leukaemia and he would always tell me he wanted to do something, maybe a skydive, to raise money.

“With Scarlett having such a long hair, she wanted to have it cut and donate it to a charity.

“We’ve raised more than £500 so far but she doesn't want to stop here.

“Scarlett told me she aimed to raise thousands and thousands of pounds, bless her.

“She's having her cut on April 30 and we'd like to raise some more money on the day as well.

“Our goal is to get at least £1,000 - that'd be great.”

Kirstie added: “I believe that Scarlett’s a gift from heaven. We lost my mom seven years ago and she always told me to have another child.

“She loved the name Scarlett so as soon as we found out that it was going to be a girl, we knew she was going to be Scarlett.

“She was sent to us to make us all smile again.”
