Life-threatening injuries after Mexborough collision

A PEDESTRIAN suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision with a car in Mexborough.

Emergency services attended Greens Way at 5.50pm on Saturday after the incident, which involved a white Fiat Doblo.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It is believed that a 53-year-old man crossed the first two lanes of the carriageway using the pelican crossing and was crossing the further two lanes when the collision occurred.

“The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.”

The pedestrian was taken to hospital and was described as being in a life-threatening condition yesterday.

Police have appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage. Call 101 quoting incident 650 of February 5.
