Letter: Will libel money go to CSE charity?
By READER: Donald H Buxton | 14/06/2016 0 comments
SO, the libel damages case is over and our MPs John Healey and Kevin Barron can now move forward knowing that their reputations are intact and their integrity proven, and they each receive £40,000 for the damages they claimed was caused by an ex-UKIP councillor’s public remarks about them (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-36427499).
So this is British Civil Justice in action.
Can our town’s citizens now expect to see social justice in action, by reading of donations of £80,000 to any of our town’s 1,400 children who were the subject of the appalling CSE crimes which rocked and shocked our town to the core?
Or will the £80,000 be quietly trousered, enjoyed and forgotten about?
Please, John and Kevin, show your socialist principles once more, and make a point of publicly giving away the money to those children who suffered appallingly at the hands of the criminals, or at least supporting the town’s CSE charities working hard to mend the minds and bodies of those children who really did suffer unspeakable crimes.
