Leeds United attacker on trial with Rotherham United

The 21-year-old forward played in last night's 3-1 friendly win at Harrogate Town and is due to train with the club until the weekend.

Cameroon-born Kamwa is part of the under-23 set-up at Elland Road and has never featured for the first team.

The Millers were short of bodies for last night's pre-season workout at the EnviroVent Stadium, having played the evening before at Rochdale, and came to an arrangement with Leeds.

"We did need a body to fill the numbers but, who knows, something might come of it," Rotherham assistant manager Richie Barker said. "It's always useful if you can get a chance to have a look at somebody.

Kamwa met his new teammates only an hour and a half before kick-off. He lasted until the 66th minute and showed up well a couple of times but didn't have a huge impact on the contest.

"It's always difficult for somebody to come into a strange environment and not know anyone," Barker said. "Bobby turned up at 6.15pm. We'd made the decision only at lunch-time for him to play.

"We've got a fantastic group of players and Woody (skipper Richard Wood) made him very welcome. He bought into what we're trying to do."

Kamwa has a year left on his deal but it looks as though Leeds are prepared to release him if he has an opportunity to play elsewhere.

"He's going to train with us for a couple of days," Barker said. "That was part of the agreement.

"When you take a player you can take them for a certain amount of time so we might as well make the most of it. He worked pretty hard tonight.

When asked if Kamwa might have a future with Rotherham, Barker replied. "Who knows? We knew only a little about him before he came in. He didn't look out of place. We'll have a decision to make eventually."
