Large quantity of hay bales torched in Wentworth

Three fire crews were called to the scene on Linthwaite Lane at 11.15pm on Friday.

A spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said around 50 to 75 hay bales had been set on fire. 

"Crews were on the scene for quite some time, with the last crew leaving at around 5.30pm on Saturday afternoon," the spokeswoman added. 

The cause of the fire was deliberate.
