'Large amount' of cash stolen from Greasbrough Co-op

POLICE appealed for witnesses after a “large quantity” of money was stolen from a Co-op cash machine.

Officers said two or three offenders gained entry to the store on Fenton Road shortly after 11.30pm on Monday.

A spokesperson said: “A silver Toyota 4x4 is believed to have been used in the incident. This vehicle was located nearby shortly afterwards near to Town Lane.

“Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area.

“We would also like to remind business owners and staff with ATMs attached to or contained within their premises, to report any suspicious activity to police at the earliest opportunity.”
