Knifeman takes cash in "targeted" Wath burglary

A MAN threatened a householder in Wath with a knife before swiping cash in an alleged burglary yesterday (Sunday).

He entered the building on Winterwell Road at around 10.30am in what is believed to have been a targeted incident, a police spokeswoman said.

Police believe the victim was not the person the intruder intended to find and that the intended target was no longer in the area, she added.

Officers from the Local Neighbourhood Policing Team patrolled the Wath area on Sunday to provide extra reassurance to residents.
