Later that day, at about 6pm, the victim was confronted at Meadowhall by Nazim, who stabbed him in the leg and ran off.
Nazim was arrested the same day and admitted his offences last October 25. He was sentenced on June 16.
Det Con Christine Fisher said: “I am incredibly pleased that Nazim has received such a significant custodial sentence.
“He committed serious acts of violence out in public, putting others at risk in addition to his victim.
“I am pleased he is now off our streets for a significant amount of time.”
