Kiveton Park pensioner cleared of child abuse charges

A PENSIONER accused of sexually abusing children has been acquitted following a week-long trial.

Peter Cartledge (81), of Peveril Close, Kiveton Park, was on trial at Sheffield Crown Court accused of seven child sex offences between 2009 and 2013.

Jurors returned not guilty verdicts on all counts yesterday (Monday) after three hours and 18 minutes of deliberation.
