Kieffer confusion as Posh appear to quash speculation

PETERBOROUGH United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has poured cold water on reports linking his club to former Rotherham United loanee Kieffer Moore.

In a surprise twist, MacAnthony appears to refute claims that the London Road side had agreed a fee with Moore's club Ipswich, believed to be an initial figure in the region of £250,000, and that a deal is imminent.

Peterborough director of football Barry Fry had said earlier in the day: "We have had a bid for Kieffer Moore accepted by Ipswich.

“But there are a lot of add-ons attached which our chairman might not fancy.

“We believe Moore playing alongside Jack Marriott with Marcus Maddison supplying the crosses would be formidable in League One."

But MacAnthony has now tweeted to say there will be no striker joining the club over the coming days, urging Posh fans to ignore the reports.

Rotherham boss Paul Warne has a bid on the table for Moore, who netted 13 times earlier this season during a loan spell at the NYS.

A raft of other clubs have been linked to Moore, including Championship Barnsley and League One Charlton Athletic.
