Kids' fit club places up for grabs

HELP is on hand for parents with children who struggle with their weight are places are still available for the summer fitness camp.

NHS Rotherham is funding a number of free places for Rotherham children aged eight to 17 to attend the residential weight management camp through the summer holidays this year.

A spokeswoman for NHS Rotherham said: “Carnegie Weight Management’s camp is a pioneering weight loss programme designed for children who struggle with their weight.

“The International Camp has a proven track record in supporting children to lose weight and maintain weight loss, improve diet and fitness, increase confidence and have fun meeting new friends at the same time.

“Last year the 53 children who attended lost an impressive 53 stones between them alongside this their confidence increased, they made lots of new friends and many are still enjoying their lifestyle changes.”

The residential camp is aimed at children who want to lose weight and change to a more healthy lifestyle and runs for five weeks commencing on July 25.

Parents will be required to attend weekly sessions in Rotherham to support their children and after the camp the children and their families will receive continued support to maintain their healthy lifestyles.
