Justin Wilson optimistic over Indycar chances

JUSTON Wilson heads for Florida this weekend aiming to improve on his 11th place in Sunday’s maiden IndyCar race of the season.

Wilson has switched from Dale Coyne Racing—despite tasting success last season—to the Dreyer and Reinbold team for the campaign.

The Rotherham racer suffered form bad luck in the Sao Paolo Grand Prix in Brazil after being hit from behind which needed a pit stop for running repairs.

He had started on the second row but dropped back to 18th before battling his way back through the field—only for his tyre to be caught again, costing him a top ten position.

Said Wilson: “It was tough out there. After cutting a tire on the first lap from all the crash damage, the crew battled back.

“I was holding on to a top-10 going into the final lap but my left rear tyre went flat, causing massive under-steer.

“I’m happy with what we accomplished and I think we showed that we can run strong.  It’s just unfortunate that tyre went down on the first lap.  I’m really looking forward to the street circuit at St. Petersburg this weekend.”
