Jury retires in Danny Dix manslaughter trial

THE jury in the Danny Dix manslaughter trial has retired to consider its verdict.

Three men are accused of killing the 38-year-old dad of one by assaulting him on Bridgegate in Rotherham town centre on Saturday, March 9, last year.

Kyle Beech (27), of Landsbury Avenue, Maltby; Liam Green (23), of Rotherham Road, Maltby; and Brock Playforth (25), of Ambleside Walk, North Anston all deny manslaughter and have been on trial at Sheffield Crown Court for three weeks,.

Playforth is also accused of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent for an alleged assault on Mr Dix's friend, Tyrone Wilkinson.

Green and Playforth have admitted affray in connection with the incident, along with four other men. Beech denies affray.

The jury retired just after noon today (Wednesday).
