Jury out in Alena Grlakova and Samantha Class murder trial

THE jury in the trial of the man accused of killing Swinton mum Alena Grlakova has retired to consider its verdicts.

The two-month trial has seen jurors told Gary Allen (47) killed Ms Grlakova (38) on the night of Boxing Day 2018 or the following morning.

Allen, who denies murder, is accused of killing Ms Grlakova by strangling her and dumping her in a stream in Parkgate, where her body was found four months later.

Allen, of Bradbury’s Close, Parkgate, is also accused of - and denies - murdering Hull sex worker Samantha Class (29) in October 1997 and dumping her in the Humber.

He was tried and acquitted in 2000 but is being tried again because new evidence has come to light.

Jurors began deliberations after retiring at 10.50am today.
