Jury discharged in NCA abuse trial due to coronavirus

THE jury in the trial of four men accused of abusing two schoolgirls in the early 2000s has been discharged for a third time.

Amin Aslam (37), of Leatham Avenue, Masbrough; Yasser Iqbal Hussain (36), of Norborough Road, Tinsley; Azad Akram Raja (36), of Adney Street, Sheffield; and Faisal Hussain (32), of Lovetot Road, Kimberworth, went on trial last Monday (9) at Sheffield Crown Court accused of 12 sex offences.

Judge David Dixon discharged the jury on Tuesday and rescheduled the trial for September 28.

An NCA spokesman said the judge had taken the decision due to the developing coronavirus situation.
