A WOMAN who assaulted a police officer has been told she committed a very serious offence.
Katie Ramsden (32), of Mallory Road, East Herringthorpe, admitted at Sheffield Crown Court today (11) to attacking the officer on April 8 last year.
She pleaded guilty to an offence of assault on an emergency worker and denied three offences of possession of a bladed article — pleas which were accepted by the prosecution.
Ramsden was released on unconditional bail and is due to be sentenced on March 12.
Judge Sarah Wright said: “You should be under no illusions — an assault on an emergency worker is a very serious offence, particularly during the pandemic.
“I make no promises so far as sentence is concerned.”
