Jobs boost as Rotherham's AESSEAL reveals expansion plans

AESSEAL will nearly double the size of its headquarters — and add a huge “showcase” window allowing passers-by to see the manufacturing firm’s inner workings.

The seal company’s new 50,000sq ft machine shop will be joined to the Templeborough base by a link corridor.

Its planning papers said the multi-million pound expansion would add 100 jobs to the current staff level of 373.

A spokesman for agents Race Cottam Associates said: “The new building will create a global centre of business in Rotherham that over the course of the next ten years will create a huge number of jobs and growth for the region.”

AESSEAL’s products help customers avoid leakage of potentially harmful substances into the environment while at the same time conserving energy and water.

The firm — established 40 years ago — is the fourth largest manufacturer of mechanical seals in the world, exporting to more than 100 countries.

The spokesman added: “The proposed development is a new additional building which will link to the existing facility on the adjacent site.

“The new building comprises a 50,000sq ft single storey machine shop supporting a range of state-of-the-art computerised machines and a two-storey office accommodation.”

Also to be included are staff changing facilities, a service yard, cycle store and picnic space for employees.
