Jamie lights up village nights with charity Christmas display

A SPECTACULAR display of Christmas lights and decorations is proving a star attraction in the Dearne Valley — and a money spinner for a children’s charity.

Jamie Wright, of Ringway, Bolton on Dearne, has teamed up with partner Patrick Thompson to turn his garden into a winter wonderland and is collecting donations for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

“I’ve got inflatables, icicles, Santa in his sleigh and a Coca Cola truck which my partner has made,” said Jamie.

“There’s a sign saying The Holidays are Coming, Santa on a bike, a Thomas the Tank Engine train and lots of silhouettes projected on the wall.

There were quite a few people here on the first night.

“I’ve been doing hot chocolate for 50p and letting people come into the garden and have their photos taken with the lights.

“I just thought it was a wonderful way to do something for charity.”

It will be on from 4.30pm to 10pm every night until New Year’s Day.
