Jail for woman who gave boy tranquilliser and sexually abused him

A WOMAN who gave a boy a tranquilliser and sexually abused him has been jailed for more than two years.

Jamie Lee Garrett (24), of Thomas Street, Swinton, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday (7) for sexual activity with a 14-year-old boy.

She also supplied the boy with alprazolam, a mild tranquilliser which is also known as Xanax.

Garrett admitted sexual activity with a child under 16 and supplying a controlled drug of class C.

She was jailed for two years and five months and will be on the Sex Offenders' Register for ten years.

Garrett was banned from contacting her victim directly or indirectly, through a restraining order, for ten years and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £170.

South Yorkshire Police has refused to release a custody image of Garrett.
