Ivy damaged in Swinton arson attack

A FIRE was deliberately started on the side of a building in Swinton last night (Thursday).

Firefighters from Dearne, Rotherham and Edlington stations were called to Queen Street at 8.45pm where ivy on the side of a building had been deliberately set alight, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

Crews left the scene at 9.30pm.

Firefighters from Rotherham station were called to a deliberate rubbish fire on Shelley Road, Herringthorpe, at 7.45pm yesterday and left the scene 15 minutes later, the spokesperson added.
