Investigation into shots fired at Mexborough house this morning

AN investigation is underway after shots were fired at a house in Mexborough this morning (Tuesday). 

It was reported that damage had been caused to two windows of a house in Hirst Gate at around 4am and the offenders left the area shortly after, said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police.

"No-one was injured in the incident and officers are carrying out enquiries today to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident,"
