Injured Rotherham United striker Chiedozie Ogbene heads to London for tests, Lee Peltier update and a new blow for Peter Kioso

The five-goal attacker missed yesterday's 2-1 Championship triumph over Huddersfield Town at AESSEAL New York Stadium that gave new boss Matt Taylor his first win as manager.

Ogbene pulled up in training on Thursday and an initial MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan showed he had suffered hamstring damage, the extent which is not yet known.

The 25-year-old, who had appeared in every match this season before the visit of the Terriers, is travelling to the capital for further examination tomorrow, a day before the Millers head to Stoke City.

"He's going for an ultrasound," Taylor said. "Realistically, if he's going for a scan on Monday he'll do well to make Tuesday's game. It doesn't seem to be a tear.

"We have to assess him. We can't risk him - or anyone - at this stage of the season. But we need all bodies because we're a little bit short in terms of the squad and he's a player who can affect games.

"We'll see what the medical experts say and go from there."

Veteran centre-half Lee Peltier came off in the second half against Huddersfield because of a hamstring concern and will be checked out at the club's Roundwood training complex.

"Hopefully it was tightness and fatigue as opposed to a strain," Taylor said.

"We've got good options in that backline. Wes (Harding) can jump back in there and Cam Humphreys is available. Jamie McCart's not featured yet but is an option and Haks (Odoffin) has the physical profile we need."

Meanwhile, Peter Kioso has been hit by another injury blow.

He hurt his ankle in the reserve-team outing last Tuesday that saw his return after a two-month absence with a groin problem.
