Industry award for Rotherham hotelier

A RISING star in the hotel sector has booked himself a top award.

Entrepreneur Vivek Chadha (pictured), owner of the Holiday Inn Express, on Manvers Way, Wath, was named as the Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Hospitality in the prestigious British Travel and Hospitality Hall of Fame awards at London’s Dorchester hotel.

The 30-year old founder and director of hotel development company Nine Hotel Group, Mr Chadha currently has 18 hotels in his portfolio, alongside a mixture of residential and commercial properties.

Robin Bidgood, managing director of award sponsor CH&Co, praised Chadha for his strategic approach to building an empire of hotels in six years after identifying the opportunity to buy an insolvent hotel development which he was working as a civil engineer. 

“It's an honour to be inducted into The British Travel and Hospitality Hall of Fame alongside my peers in the industry,” said Mr Chadha, who is based in Watford.

“I feel a true sense of pride in joining such an established roster of renowned names and it’s a personal career highlight for me to be awarded as Young Entrepreneur of the Year for hospitality.”
