Ian lampoons X Factor's 'soulless drivel' in video for new single

WHISTON musician Ian Huddlestone has launched a broadside at TV talent contest the X Factor using a spoof video to attack its “soulless drivel.”

Ian, a singer-songwriter with his band The Expectations, satirises the ITV hit show’s audition process in the video for his single The Machine.

“The song itself is a direct attack on the X-Factor, and is called The Machine because of the nature in which the same old manufactured, throwaway, karaoke style, soulless drivel, is being churned out and forced fed to the public every year on the show,” said Ian.

“It is just meant to increase Simon Cowell’s fat bank account, with no regard to real music or songwriting whatsoever.”

The video was filmed at Eastwood View Working Men’s Club and you can watch it below.
