Hunt for Rotherham knife robbers

POLICE have released e-fits of two men suspected of robbing a teenager of his wallet and phone at knifepoint.

The street robbery took place on Wingfield Road, close to the junction with Swale Road, at about 5.15pm on January 1.

The victim (18) was approached by two men, who demanded his wallet. When he refused one of the suspects produced a knife.

The victim handed over his wallet and one offender went through his pockets to steal his Blackberry Torch mobile phone.

Both suspects are described as white, slim and in their early 20s. One was about 6ft tall and wore a black hoodie with a red Nike tick logo on the chest, black shell-suit bottoms and black trainers.

The other was about 5ft 10ins tall and wore a black hooded top, blue jeans, white trainers and carried a knife in his waistband.

Officers are appealing for members of the public to identify the men or help with more information about the incident.
