Hundreds of mourners at Rotherham Crem for dad Danny Dix’s funeral

HUNDREDS of mourners packed into Rotherham Crematorium this afternoon (Friday) to pay their respects to football-loving Danny Dix as he was laid to rest.

Friends and family donned Rotherham United shirts at the popular dad-of-one’s funeral — dozens had to stand outside of the packed crematorium.

Danny (38), from Munsbrough (pictured below), died on March 16 — a week after being assaulted in Bridgegate in Rotherham town centre.

Music by Oasis, Ian Brown and Joy Division featured in the funeral service today and floral tributes, which read 'RUFC' and 'Danny', adorned the coffin.

Mourners were seen holding red roses, another had ‘Dixie’ emblazoned onto the back of a football shirt in tribute.

Ten people have been arrested in connection with Danny’s death and released on bail or under investigation.
