Howard Webb to ref Alexander's memorial match

A CHARITY football match in memory of a brave teenage cancer victim takes place next Friday

Howard Webb will referee as family and friends gather to remember Alexander Albiston, who died in March 2010 aged 18.

The game kicks-off at 3.45pm at Wickersley School, where Alexander scored five top A-levels while battling his rare bone cancer.

Spectators will be given a Teenage Cancer Trust wristband in return for donations to the charity.

A Pink Party will be held at the Wickersley Old Village Cricket Club the following night .

The only rule for attending the disco and karaoke night in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust is wearing an item of pink clothing.

Dad Tim (48) said: “To date, more than £31,000 has been raised in Alexander’s memory to support the two trusts.
