Housing firm delivers Christmas joy for patients

CHILDREN spending Christmas time on a hospital ward enjoyed some festive fun thanks to a kind-hearted construction company.

Social housing builder Bramall Construction—based in Wath—treated in-patients on Rotherham Hospital children’s ward to their own Christmas party last weekend.

The special celebration included snacks, party games and a gift-bearing visit from Father Christmas himself.

Rachel Bettison, marketing communications officer at Bramall, said: “It’s not nice to be in hospital over Christmas so we wanted to do our bit to make it just a bit more enjoyable.

“It’s a fantastic cause and we’re giving just a little bit back to the community. It’s been in our company ethos since were founded in Wath, in 1931.”

Play specialist Val Aspin of the hospital’s children’s ward, said: “We're really grateful.

"It’s fantastic that local companies can support children in the area, especially at Christmas time. It’s a great example of local organisations working together.

“The children’s faces were a picture when they saw Father Christmas and the party definitely brought some Christmas spirit to the ward.

"Fun was had by all and I'm sure the youngsters will remember the party for a long time to come.”
