Hospital crossing move

CAMPAIGNERS have called for action to protect people trying to cross a dangerous road outside Rotherham General Hospital.

The NHS Retirement Fellowship has handed a 187-signature to Rotherham Council calling for a crossing to be installed on Moorgate Road.

The idea was first raised four years ago but was shelved due to a lack of funding and site constraints.

Now the council is to re-assess the site and if it meets the criteria, a feasibility study for the provision of a crossing could be carried out.
