Historical sex offence trial date for Rotherham men

THREE men are due to stand trial next year accused of historical sex offences including rape and trafficking a girl.

Asghar Bostan (47), of East Bawtry Road, Rotherham, is accused of two counts of rape between 2002 and 2004.

Mohammed Yasin (36) from Lilycroft Road, Bradford, and Qaiser Iqbal (35) from Bingley Road, Bradford, are charged with intentionally arranging or facilitating the travel of a female for the purposes of sexual abuse between 2004 and 2006.

All charges relate to the same alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The men — all charged as part of the National Crime Agency’s Operation Stovewood — appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday (July 19) where they denied all the charges.

Bostan is due to stand trial on February 5 next year while Yasin and Iqbal are due to stand trial on March 19 next year.

They have all been released on conditional bail until their next court appearance on October 27.
