A FREE course to help carers to manage their own health and well-being is being launched by a Rotherham charity.

The Rotherham Hospice, in partnership with NHS Rotherham, is offering carers a place on the Looking After Me course.

A hospice spokeswoman said: "The nationally recognised course is designed to help and support carers cope with their caring situation on a daily basis.

"It will also enable carers to look after their own health and well-being.

"Previous participants have said that the course helped them to deal with tiredness, stress, feelings of depression and difficult emotions."

The six-week course starts on January 9 at the Rotherham Hospice on Broom Road. Sessions take place once a week and will last two and a half hours, with lunch provided.

Participants will receive a hand book and a relaxation CD.
