A HECKLER interrupted Boris Johnson’s speech on the Northern Powerhouse in Rotherham this afternoon (Friday) by demanding he reconvene his MPs in Parliament.

The man shouted at the Prime Minister, who was speaking at the Convention of the North at Magna, “sort it out Boris” as he was ejected by security.

Mr Johnson joined political and business leaders at the conference, such as Sheffield City Region Mayor Dan Jarvis and Dame Julie Kenny, of Wentworth Woodhouse.

The conference, which is the biggest ever event of its kind, is hoping to make the case to Government and Mr Johnson for more investment in the North.

Mr Johnson used the conference to announce a new authority which will run transport across the North of England.

“(It will provide) reliable, comfortable and affordable transport with someone accountable delivering your service,” he said.
