Haven for the homeless unveiled as Shiloh opens new garden

HOMELESS and vulnerable people will be able to find floral comfort at a charity’s new base after the opening of a new garden.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham, Cllr Jenny Andrews and Cllr Jeanette Mallinder, officially opened the new “Peace Garden” at Shiloh in Masbrough.

The project to transform a bare courtyard has been funded with help from members of the Rotherham Wheelers — who took part in a recent fundriaisng bike ride along the River Rhine —  Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club and

Rotherham Round Table and supported by contractors Fortem and MEARS. 

The outside space now features picnic table-style seating, timber decking and planters packed with colourful flowers.

It will be used for group activities, gardening workshops and as a calm spot for one-to-one support.
