Gunshots fired at Wath house in ‘targeted attack’

GUNSHOTS were fired at a Wath house from a moving vehicle and police are treating it as a targeted attack.

A “football-sized hole” was left in the window of the property on Keble Martin Way following the incident last Sunday (May 12) at 10.49pm.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “It is believed that offenders were in a small vehicle that slowed down as it passed the targeted house, and discharged their firearm, leaving a football-sized hole in the window. No-one was injured.

“We would like to reassure the community that there is no information to suggest that there is any threat to the wider community and there have not been any further incidents.”
